Hi All!! This is my first blog post and I am so excited to share some of my background journey with you all. So my name is Felicity, I am 19 , from Australia and I suffer but fight chronic fatigue syndrome. I was officially diagnosed with this January 2014, but I have been sick since the middle of 2013. I was extremely unlucky in the sense that I got sick during the most crucial schooling years, (11 & 12 ) and battled with it during my HSC.
Like many other people, my battle so far has been long, tiring, emotional and somewhat depressive. I suffer from many different symptoms such as swollen lymph nodes and glands regularly, fatigued easily, difficulty concentrating from time to time, I get muscles weakness in both my arms and legs. However, my legs are the worst as any vigorous activity can trigger a flare... such as running, standing too long, shopping (because I am walking a long time) dancing, but walking up the stairs is my biggest enemy, not only do I get muscle fatigue where I feel like my legs have turned to led and I have to really push myself to walk, coming back down is a pain in the butt because my legs just wobble and I have to hold tightly to the railing or hold onto someone I am with. I have a low immune system and my newest addition is muscle pain after the muscle weakness. These are my main symptoms...
HOWEVER, I am turning my negative into a positive because despite all that I have felt and have had to deal with, I am still fighting here today. I have accepted CFS as being apart of me, although I try not to let it control me, I have adjusted to my new lifestyle and I make sure that I take cautions in whatever I am doing so I don't cause a flare. I have become much happier because of this acceptance. I hope you all stay tuned for another blog post :)
Love to all
